I have to disagree.... People don't realize how hard it is to paint with oil, and have it look realalistic. Why don't your try something like this and we will both comment once you post. :)

I read your comment on the semi-finalist page, I agree whole-heartedly. Your work is beautiful, and classic, and very with the time period of Banabus. I also participated in the contest, I did a black and white sillhoette of Barnabus, I thought it would be right in line with the Victorian period, ya know? I suppose they have very specific taste, the judges, I mean. It's really is a shame that they passed over alot of what I would consider more 'appropriate' works.

Thanks for your compliments. Contests like these are often full of fallacies I suppose. I rarely enter into competitions but this one seemed like it would be fun. It certainly was a learning experience in many ways.

btw... I like the cameo style simplicity of your submission.
